Congratulations! If your child is going to be in Year 1 of primary school, whether it is Sekolah Kebangsaan, SJKC, or SJKT, you still have a chance to register them. But before you do, please note that there have been some changes this year, so it’s important to pay attention and follow the instructions provided here. Don’t worry, we’re here to help make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible!
Registration of 2024/25 Standard 1 Students starts on 2nd May
The Ministry of Education has just announced that registration for Year 1 of primary school will be open from 2nd May until 30th June. The best part is, you can register your child online! However, please keep in mind that only Malaysian children who were born between 2nd January 2017 and 1st January 2018 are eligible to apply.
The good news is you can now register your child online by following the link provided: https://idme.moe.gov.my/, but you MUST to complete the registration between 2nd May to 30th Jun 2023.
It’s important to note that under Malaysian law, it is mandatory for parents to send their children to primary school for education. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a fine of RM5,000, a jail term of up to 6 months, or both.
