“Pakej Cuti-Cuti Cikgu 2023 is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of teachers under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM). In line with the 2023 National Teachers’ Day celebration, KPM has rolled out 10 new initiatives designed to bolster teachers’ welfare and alleviate their burdens.

Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, emphasized that besides the seven measures previously decided by KPM, these 10 new initiatives also aim to help reduce living costs, stimulate the economy, and enhance national welfare.

Pakej Cuti-Cuti Cikgu 2023 offers a range of benefits including discounts on flight tickets, accommodations, land transportation, and theme parks. This is achieved through collaborations with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Ministry of Transportation Malaysia, and strategic partners such as AirAsia, Traveloka and Bank Rakyat

This initiative is expected to promote tourism destinations and stimulate the national economy. 10 initiatives by KPM in conjunction with Teachers’ Day 2023:

  4. KPM, together with the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Pendidikan (SPP), continues to strengthen the management of the recruitment of education service officers.
  5. Permission and flexibility in wearing the official corporate attire of the Ministry of Education while on duty.
  6. Abolition of any collection of contributions for Teachers’ Day celebrations.
  7. Enhancing the message of the Guru Insani Malaysia group.
  8. Enhancing the role of the Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn (YTGHO) in improving teacher professionalism and taking care of teacher welfare.
  9. Improvement of the Standard Guru Malaysia 2.0.
